Home study or homeschooling programs have been offered by several schools in the Philippines for many years now. Students enrolled in this non-traditional learning system are usually those who cannot attend school regularly such as working students or those with health issues that require them to stay home most of the time. With the pandemic that the world is facing today, these home study programs have started gaining more attention from parents who want to ensure that their children are continuously getting quality education while being at the comforts and safety of their homes.
Considering enrolling your child in this alternative learning method? Here are some schools in the Philippines that offer home study, homeschool, and distance learning programs:
1. Southville International School and Colleges
Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) has two types of Homeschool Programs that are open to high school and college students. First is INNOVE Blended Education Solution, a home study program where students are only required to attend classes twice a week and then do self-directed learning for the rest of the week. The second homeschool program is Online Distance Learning (ODL) which, as the name suggests, is a purely online learning model. The also recently launched their Virtual Online Learning and Teaching (VOLT) for preschool all the way to graduate school. It features a flexible learning program where students may choose from fully virtual or blended classes.

Both Online and Printed Distance Learning also have two program types. The International Program, which is primarily designed for foreign students, and the Combo Program which is intended for Filipino students. For their Open Curriculum Program, the parents are the ones who choose the curriculum and materials for their children, while the school acts as an educational adviser to ensure that the minimum requirements imposed by DepEd are met by parents and students.
